New Opportunities and the Adopt-A-Family board need the community’s help in providing Christmas gifts for children in financially-challenged families.
Toys are needed for children in all age groups, according to Teresa Lansman of New Opportunities. The Toys for Tots items have already been delivered to New Opportunities, and there are significantly fewer items for the 350 children registered to receive toys through the program.
New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at New Opportunities at 1401 N. Elm St in Jefferson, or at the county engineer’s office at the courthouse.
Monetary donations can be sent to Adopt-A-Family at PO Box 364, Jefferson, IA 50129, or taken to any local Peoples Trust & Savings Bank location.
